These flavorful biscuits are made in under 30 minutes, so you can have them hot and ready for dinner time. They are full of rich flavor from three different types of cheese and plenty of herbs and spices.

This recipe is great if you are looking to step up your biscuit game to something packed with flavor!

Kids and adults love these cheddar and herb biscuits, and they are always a hit at family gatherings and parties.

Ingredients Needed For Keto Cheddar Biscuits

These delicious biscuits only require a few ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen.

    Mozzarella Cheese

This gives these biscuits a unique texture with additional cheesiness. Mozzarella is one of my favorite mild-tasting cheeses to use in recipes!

    Cream Cheese

Cream cheese adds moisture to this recipe and helps the dough to come together beautifully. It creates moist and flaky biscuits that go great with everything.

    Cheddar Cheese

Cheddar cheese is the heart of these biscuits and gives them their traditional cheddar flavor. It also adds a pretty orange color to the biscuits and helps everything come together.

    Almond Flour

Almond flour is our flour replacement in this recipe and yields a perfectly soft and light biscuit. It also gives a nice texture to the crumb with a very mild nutty taste.

    Baking Powder

Used as a leavener, the baking powder helps these biscuits to rise tall and fluffy, making sure they don't get weighed down by the cheese and become too dense.

    Egg

The egg in this recipe also adds moisture and helps to hold the dough together. It also helps to keep these biscuits nice and light as the eggs help them to rise.

    Seasonings

The seasonings in this recipe are very important as they give these biscuits their delicious herby flavor. You only need a handful of seasonings and herbs, but they make all of the difference.

Please note: Check out the recipe card at the bottom for a full list of ingredients used to make this low-carb recipe.

How To Make Keto Cheddar Biscuits

These cheddar and herb biscuits are surprisingly easy to whip up in a pinch and are a great addition to any meal. They bake up beautifully in under 30 minutes! So, if you are looking for a quick keto biscuit recipe, this is for you!

The full instructions are in the recipe card at the bottom of this post, but here's a quick overview of how to make these biscuits.

    Preheat The Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F while you work on the dough. This way, it will be hot enough and ready when your biscuits are shaped.

    Prepare Cheese

Combine the mozzarella, cheddar, and cream cheese and heat them in the microwave at 30-second intervals until melted. Watch carefully, stirring between every interval to avoid burning until everything has completely combined.

Once there are no chunks of cheese, it is ready to go.

cheese herb roll dough initial steps

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, add your melted cheeses with the other ingredients and beat everything on high until completely combined.

Don't worry too much about overmixing - just make sure that everything is incorporated well.

    Shape The Biscuits

Once your dough has come together nicely, you can begin to shape your biscuits.

Form the dough into 8 evenly sized balls, shaping them with your hands. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet with space apart. Slightly flatten the balls with the palm of your hand.

    Bake

Bake the biscuits for 15 minutes at 350°F until they have become slightly brown on top. Take them out of the oven and leave them to cool slightly before serving.

What To Serve With Keto Cheddar Bay Biscuits

These cheesy almond flour biscuits are the perfect addition to any meal that you need a hearty side for. They are delicious when served with cheesy broccoli cauliflower soup or unstuffed cabbage soup.

Cheddar and herb biscuits are equally good when served with a casserole like this keto Philly cheesesteak casserole! Or enjoy them with an easy Tuscan chicken skillet dish.

They go good with just about anything, even salads! These biscuits are the perfect side for any keto meal.

Frequently Asked Questions About Keto Cheddar Biscuits

Before we get to the printable recipe card, here are some questions people often ask about these low-carb biscuits.

Can I make these keto biscuits without cheddar cheese?

You definitely can make these biscuits without the cheddar cheese if you prefer. They won't be as flavorful, but they will still be good.

To keep the texture the same, you will need to add more mozzarella cheese or ½ a cup of another type of cheese. This will keep the recipe as similar as possible.

How long will these keto cheddar biscuits last?

At room temperature, keto biscuits last for about 3 days. If you store them in the fridge, they can stay fresh for 6 to 7 days.

If you want to make these biscuits in bulk, they'll last for 3 months when frozen. Just make sure they are in an airtight container or bag to avoid freezer burn.

How can I make these biscuits more flavorful?

If you are looking for an extra punch of flavor in your biscuits, there are many ingredients that you can add.

Jalapeños would be a delicious complement to the cheddar, or you could also grate up some of your favorite keto veggies to make these biscuits more nutritious. You could experiment with using more or different herbs to change up the flavor as well.
