8-12 weeks old - Still "puppies" for folks wanting a puppy  - but not the "7 week old infant puppy" - these guys will be retrieving birds and bumpers, started crate training, learning obedience ( not to jump up, here, etc - learning to be good well behaved citizens ) and super smart - well - bred pups !! GOOD -LOOKING TOO ! So keep an eye on the web site for these SUPER DUCK STARTED PUPS  !!


Alot of folks prefer NOT to do the 7 week old infant puppy stage and I enjoy raising these guys, working with them retrieving and selling them a little older when they are capable of doing more and have more bladder control so house breaking and crate training is alot easier!!!!

So....for folks who do not want to do the 7 week old infant puppy thing .... but still want a puppy but one with a lot more bladder control and is farther along...

Ashley - Just a quick note to let you know that Sam is doing great.....I took him up to Virginia last friday...he is an amazing little guy.....He's absolutely the best looking puppy I've ever seen..People are drawn to him, he is also exceptionally intelligent. Cathie has a 14 month old great dane/lab mix (Bella) that now has a long awaited playmate....Sam already more than holds his own with her although we are being careful that Bella doesn't hurt him in her excitement. Thanks again for a great dog....we can tell he got a great start from you....we hope you will keep us in mind for future breeding opportunities....

Ashley I just had to drop you another note and give you an update. I took Kate on her 2nd dove hunt today and she did AWESOME! We went opening weekend (her first hunt) and I think she was a bit overwhelmed. She found the birds well but was timid on the return. Today was a totally different story. She retrieved like a pro. It was so rewarding to watch her work. I got a limit of doves and she found them all (in addition to helping some other hunters in the group find theirs). She was so focused and enthusiastic. I wish I had pictures of her retrieving but this one will have to do. On another note I found out that I will be going back to Iraq around the first of the year. I’ll have to give Kate to my parents and my sister back in Texas. No doubt the 12-15 months without my dog will be very hard. She is so smart and disciplined. I get so many “that’s a good looking dog” comments. I’ll miss her greatly but will look forward to getting back to hunt with her more. By the way she’s smoked right now…good day in the field a big dinner and she’s sound asleep! Jim Barrows Ft. Benning
