Make your own hamburger seasoning with your favorite spices from your spice rack. The best part is that you can make the recipe as spicy or salty as you like it - it's so easy!

Seasoning mixes are incredibly handy and helpful. When you already have the perfect blend ready to use, you just sprinkle it on your meat, and you are ready to get cooking!

I personally love making my own spice blends when I can. It feels so good to be able to control how spicy or salty it is and to know exactly what is in it.

I just don't trust the stuff I can buy at the store. There is always the possibility that it could have added preservatives or hidden sugars.

    My favorites so far are:

    • Everything But The Bagel Seasoning
    • Homemade Chili Seasoning Mix
    • Keto Taco Seasoning Mix

When it's so easy to make your own seasoning blend, you'll find excuses to create new ones!

Did you use the same spice combination on your pork chops more than once? Create your dry rub blend! What about your chicken? Create a poultry seasoning.

Making your own spice blends is the best, especially when making a juicy burger!

     Why you'll love it

How do you like to season burgers? Sure, you can just make some patties and fry them up with just a dash of salt- but what is the fun in that?

This is the best burger seasoning recipe you will ever make! The combination of salty, hot, earthy, and aromatic spices takes burgers to the next level.

You might not even need any condiments when the patties taste this good.

Even better - this spice blend is great on more than just a burger patty. The paprika and cumin in it make it perfect to use as a dry rub for pork chops. Or, use this as a dry rub for a pot roast.

It enhances beef and pork perfectly!

When you discover how easy it is to prepare this burger seasoning recipe, you'll never go back to storebought kind again.

    Ingredients

There are just six spices in this delicious hamburger seasoning. All of them are easy to find and taste fantastic together.

    Salt

Any type of salt is perfect for this recipe. If you want to use sea salt, go ahead - just make sure it is ground finely.

Salt is the spice I used the most because its job is to enhance all the other spices.

    Black Pepper

You only need a pinch of ground black pepper. If you use more of it, then it will have a stronger flavor - so use as much as you like.

You can certainly use white pepper if you want. The flavor profiles are pretty similar!

    Garlic Powder

Use a fresh garlic powder. The older a spice gets, the less pungent it tastes.

If you use garlic salt, I suggest cutting back on how much salt you add to this homemade burger seasoning.

    Paprika

Use the most common type of paprika you find at the store. It's usually just labeled "paprika," but you might also see it called "sweet paprika." It has a sweeter flavor and isn't very spicy.

If you use smoked paprika, your spice blend might be a bit spicy! Cayenne pepper is also a great substitution if you like spice.

    Cumin

Cumin is used in lots of spice blends because it has a warm and inviting taste. It rounds out the bold paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.

    Onion Powder

I love the earthy flavor that onion powder gives this hamburger seasoning recipe. If you want the burgers to really taste bold, use more onion powder.

Please note: Check out the recipe card at the bottom for a full list of ingredients used to make this low-carb recipe.

    Tips

    • Label the jar or spice container using a label printer so that the spice mix label is easy to ready.
    • Add expiration date to the seasoning. Spice blends like this one will start to lose their strength after about a year. Make sure to use an airtight container to make it last.
    • Write the ingredients on the back of the jar by listing out the individual spices that you used in your hamburger seasoning. This way you'll know whether you want to use it on other recipes.
    • Make a big batch. This recipe only makes enough seasoning for a few hamburgers. If you want to make enough to fill up a spice container, I suggest doubling or even tripling the recipe.

    Instructions

This really is as easy as just mixing up the different spices and then using them to season your ground beef hamburgers.

    Mix The Spices Together

Add all the spices for this burger seasoning blend together in a small bowl. Then, mix to combine.

Another fun way to mix them together is to put all the spices in a food storage bag and then shake the bag really well.

    Season The Burger Patties

Then, sprinkle this seasoning on the patties and grill them! They will have such a great flavor that you won't need any extra seasoning.

Alternatively, you can use the blend to season the ground meat when forming your patties.

    ️ Serving suggestions

This hamburger seasoning sure has an amazing flavor! When you make an amazing burger with it, just serve your favorite sides too.

How about some yummy deviled eggs? They are creamy and full of healthy fats and protein. Jicama fries are crispy and seasoned perfectly. They are the perfect thing to serve with burgers.

What's a cookout without potato salad? To keep it low-carb, use cauliflower instead of potatoes!

This cauliflower potato salad is zesty and bursting with taste!

    FAQs

Before we get to the printable recipe card, here are some questions people often ask about how to make it.

Can I add brown sugar to the hamburger seasoning recipe?

No, do not add brown sugar to this recipe. If you do, it won't be keto-friendly. However, if you really like sweetness in your spice mixes, use a brown sugar replacement.

What other spices can I add to this seasoning?

This seasoning mix is pretty perfect, just like it is. If you want, you could add some red pepper flakes for some heat and a pinch of oregano for a little sweet earthy flavor.

How much seasoning does this recipe make?

This recipe makes enough spice to season about six hamburger patties.

Can you use this on ground turkey?

Yes, you can use this spice blend on turkey burgers, ground chicken burgers, and even bison or venison burgers. Even veggie burgers!
