    Why you'll love it

This low-carb mimosa is the quintessential brunch cocktail. It's bubbly and fun! You can serve it at bridal showers or when you are getting together with friends.

If you ever find yourself craving the color and flavors of orange juice at a party, make this cocktail. This sugar-free mimosa looks like it is filled with orange juice, but it isn't! A secret ingredient makes it one of my favorite cocktails of all time.

Traditional mimosas are full of sugar and carbs (thanks to the orange juice). With a few ingredient swaps, you can guilt-free sip your mimosa from a champagne glass. Serve it at your next brunch.

    Ingredients

There are just a few ingredients in this low-carb mimosa. Here's what I used to make this keto cocktail.

    ingredients for keto mimosa.

    Sparkling water

Since there are carbs in champagne, it's a great idea to use less of it. Do this by mixing sparkling water into the champagne.

Remember to use unflavored and unsweetened carbonated water.

    Dry champagne

Extra Brut is a popular brand. Use your favorite kind of dry champagne or sparkling wine. Make sure it is dry so that it has fewer carbs!

    Orange water flavoring drops

This is what you'll use instead of orange juice.

Use sugar-free orange-flavored water flavoring drops. Read the labels carefully because some of them will have sugar or carbs.

    Orange slices

This is for the garnish. It's what makes the mimosa extra fun and festive.

Please note: Check out the recipe card at the bottom for a full list of ingredients used to make this low-carb recipe.

    Tips

    • Chill the champagne first. Cold champagne always tastes so much more refreshing and delicious.
    • Make it non-alcoholic. You can make this with just sparkling water. It's a fun virgin cocktail for anyone that can't have alcohol.
    • Garnish with oranges. Don't forget the garnish. That's what makes the drinks look more appetizing.
    • Use high-quality champagne. The better the champagne tastes, the better the entire cocktail will taste.

    Instructions

It's so easy to make a low-carb mimosa that you will be able to make this for every brunch or celebratory breakfast that you enjoy.

adding orange flavor to sparkling water.

    Flavor the sparkling water

Add the orange flavoring drops to the sparkling water. Mix it together really well.

    flavored sparkling water in glass.

    Pour into glasses

Pour the champagne and orange-flavored sparkling water into two glasses.

    Garnish

Add an orange slice on top of each champagne flute. Serve them immediately, so they don't go flat.

    ️ Serving suggestions

This keto mimosa recipe is the perfect drink to serve at any celebration or party.

This fruity cocktail will taste incredible with a slice of low-carb coffee cake. Or, keep the citrus flavors going with a keto lemon loaf. It's a high-protein bread with only 4 grams net carbs!

For the main course, serve a cauliflower crust quiche with bacon and cheddar cheese. It's the ideal brunch entree.

    Variations

There are a bunch of different ways you can change this low-carb mimosa to make it your favorite drink. Here are a few of my favorite variations. If you make a change to it, let me know in the comments.

    • Use different flavors. Even though mimosas are classically made with orange juice and champagne, use drops that taste like grapefruit juice.
    • Make a slushie. A frozen mimosa could be a lot of fun on a hot summer morning.
    • Add lemons. Mix in a squirt of fresh lemon juice and garnish with some fresh lemon slices.
    • Make it grand. Instead of orange drops, add a shot of orange liqueur to the champagne.
    • Sangria mimosa. Add some fresh fruit (like strawberries and raspberries) to the bottom of each glass before you serve the mimosas.

    FAQs

Here are some questions people often ask about making a low-carb mimosa. If you don't see your question in this list, please leave it in the comments.

    Is orange juice keto-friendly?

No, orange juice is not keto. Even fresh orange juice without any added sugar has too many carbs in it. In 8 ounces, there are 25 grams net carbs.

Can you make a low-carb mimosa ahead of time?

It's not a good idea to try and make a low-carb mimosa ahead of time. Since both champagne and sparkling water are carbonated, they need to stay under pressure for as long as possible.

As soon as you subject the carbonation to the air, it will start to become flat.

What is the best kind of champagne to use in a classic mimosa?

Dry champagne will taste the best in this delicious low-carb mimosa. Cava and Prosecco are affordable options that will taste delicious.

How many carbs are in a keto-friendly mimosa?

There are only 1 gram net carbs in this perfect drink.

Is champagne and sparkling wine the same thing?

If you look only at how they are made, champagne and sparkling wine are the same. They are both types of carbonated wine.

The difference comes from the geographic location. Sparkling wine can only be called champagne if it comes from Champagne, France.

Champagne is also made from only three types of grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
