Although I've cut back significantly on dairy, I still like to enjoy a little cheese. It's just such a great keto snack.

If you like the popular Parmesan Crisps, you're going to love the recipe I'm sharing today. It's a dressed up version of low carb cheese chips.

Just in time for Valentine's Day, I'm bringing you a nutty cheese crisps recipe that you'll want to share with your significant other.

Since chocolate is one of the foods that goes with love, it's drizzled on top of these crispy low carb treats.

But, you can certainly leave it out if you prefer. The drizzle really dresses them up, though.

How to make the nutty low carb cheese crisps recipe

The crisps can be formed into any shape you'd like. Either free formed or using a mold.

And, feel free to use your favorite cheese. Mine are made with Edam and sharp cheddar which are my faves.

Looking to give your Valentine something a little different this year? You must make up a batch of these nutty cheese crisps recipe.

To make the heart shapes, it's best to use a silicone pancake mold, but the standard non-stick kind work too.

The great thing is that you make the chips in any size and shape you'd like. I think these would be great to serve at Christmas too.

You can also change up the nuts and even replace them with seeds if there's a nut allergy. However, I think the almonds and hazelnuts are a great combo in these nutty cheese crisps.

Need some idea's for a romantic dinner at home to serve your Valentine? I'd recommend some keto lasagna served with low carb breadsticks.

For something a bit quicker, you could try the chicken and shrimp stir-fry.

Another one of my favorite meals for two is a steak salad. My husband doesn't like spicy so I make his with regular ranch dressing.

And, if you want to make your own homemade chocolate, give my sugar free chocolate recipe a try. Or, make up a batch of luscious low carb chocolate truffles.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup Edam cheese grated
    • ½ cup cheddar cheese grated (sharp or mild)
    • 1 ½ tablespoons hazelnuts chopped or crushed
    • 1 tablespoon almond slivers
    • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
    • 40 grams sugar free chocolate bar
    US Customary - Metric

    Instructions

    • In a platter or bowl, mix grated Edam cheese and cheddar cheese.
    • In molds or parchment paper lined shaped pan, spread combined cheeses. (You can also just sprinkle in free form rounds on the pan) Top with almond shavings and sprinkle hazelnuts.
    • Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F for 5 to 8 minutes. Avoid burning the sides. Remove from oven and allow to cool for a few minutes then slowly remove cheese from parchment paper and transfer to a platter.
    • In another pan or oven safe bowl, pour heavy cream and add chocolate bar. Heat in the oven just before removing cheese pans. Allow for chocolate bar to melt, about 2 to 4 minutes. Opt to use a microwave, double broiler or chocolate melter for melting chocolates.
    • Transfer melted chocolates into a disposable plastic or icing dispenser. Cut a small hole on the plastic or use a small tip for the icing dispenser.
    • Drizzle melted chocolates on the nutty cheese crisps.

Can you use Havarti instead of Edam?

Grated Havarti should be fine to use in place of the Edam cheese.

I am a huge fan of cheese and I have been looking for a recipe like yours for a decades=) Cheese is much more healthy than most think. Useful properties of cheese are largely due to its nutritional value. The cheese contains vitally important and valuable for human proteins, milk fat, minerals, vitamins and extractions. Their concentration is almost 10 times higher than in milk from which cheese is made. According to nutritionists, 50 grams of cheese is equivalent to consuming 0.5 liters of milk. The protein, which is contained in cheese (its ratio is up to 25%) is digested much better than the protein from fresh milk. About 3% of the cheese is made up of mineral substances, the lion's share of which is calcium and phosphorus, along with the zinc, iodine, selenium, iron, copper, and potassium in the cheese. No less rich is the vitamin series: A, B1, B2, B12, C, D, E, PP, pantothenic acid, etc. Digestibility of nutrients that are found in cheese up to 99%. The energy value of cheese is not the same and depends on the content of fat and protein in the product, on average it is 300-400 kcal per 100 g. And now image these properties combines with wonderful flavor and what yummy you will get.

How long can you store these for? Or do they need to be eaten in a few days?

It says 4g of carbs per serving but how many chips equal a serving?

It depends on the size of the chips. I made 2 big ones.

I am sorry but I cannot tell by the pictures how thick the 'chips' are. Are they think like an actual chip or are they more like a cracker? I didn't know isf they would crisp up if I made them too thick. Sorry... Novice keto cook here...?

The nutritional facts look wrong. How can the saturated fat exceed 100%?
And the rest of the items add up to more than 100%.
And how can the % dietary fibre exceed the total carbs?

Those numbers are percent of recommended daily value. You're not reading it correctly.
