    Flourless Low Carb Keto Avocado Brownies

    You’d never guess these rich, fudgy flourless keto avocado brownies actually contain avocados! They’re as easy as a brownie mix, but they’re low carb, sugar-free, and packed with healthy fats for guilt-free indulgence.

    Have you tried avocados in your desserts before?

    I’ll admit, I was skeptical at first. But when my kids (who don’t like avocados) devoured these brownies, I knew this recipe was a winner!

    The bars are so rich and fudgy. The chocolate flavor is perfect, while the avocado adds amazing gooiness. 

    Better than a mix

    I also love that the batter whips up almost as quick as a brownie mix. You simply combine the ingredients in a food processor, spread the batter into your baking pan, and bake! 

    But unlike store-bought mixes, these avocado keto brownies are flourless, sugar-free, low-carb, and gluten-free. Meaning you can indulge totally guilt-free.

    So if you have a couple of ripe avocados you need to use, you have to give this recipe a try!

    How to make keto avocado brownies

    These brownies aren’t just a great way to sneak in some healthy fats. They are also SUPER easy to make!

    Prep the batter

    1. Combine the avocado, butter, sweetener, and vanilla extract in your blender or food processor and blend.
    2. Add the eggs and blend again.
    3. Add in the almond butter, cocoa powder, sea salt, and baking soda. Pulse until combined.

    Baking the batter

    1. Grease or line and 8×8-inch baking pan with coconut oil or parchment paper.
    2. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread with a rubber spatula.
    3. Bake for 20 minutes at 350°F. 
    4. Allow the low carb brownies to cool on rack before cutting into 16 squares.

    How easy is that? If you have a ripe avocado or two that are ready to be used, you’re just a few steps away from delicious, fudgy brownies!

    You can store the them covered in the refrigerator, or you can freeze for longer storage.

    Variations to the recipe

    This recipe calls for two ripe avocados. However, if you only have one, that should work too! Simply keep an eye on the them while they bake, as they may cook faster with only one avocado.

    You can also add other ingredients to achieve your perfect brownie. A few ideas for you:

    • A little crunch: Try adding chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter.
    • More chocolate: You can add sugar-free chocolate chips to the batter, or sprinkle them on top before baking.
    • Toppings: Drizzle your serving with sugar-free caramel syrup before eating, or add a dollop of homemade whipped cream. You can even make keto cheesecake brownies by adding a cream cheese topping!

    Notes on cooking time

    Whenever I bake a batch of keto brownies with avocado, I find that baking them for 20 minutes is just right. They are firm, but still have a fudgy texture.

    If you like your brownies gooier or fudgier, you could shorten the baking time. On the other hand, if you like them a little firmer, try leaving them in the oven a bit longer.

    Just experiment until you find your perfect cook time!

    How many carbs are there?

    One medium avocado contains about 13 grams of carbs. However, it also contains 10 grams of fiber. So there are only about 3 net carbs in every avocado.

    The rest of the ingredients in this avocado brownies keto recipe are also very low carb, and there is no flour used.

    If you cut the baked brownies into 16 squares, each square will have 5 grams of carbs with 3 grams of fiber. This means each brownie is only 2 net carbs.

    With such low carbs and 12 grams of healthy fats per serving, I would say these avocado brownies are great for a ketogenic diet!

      Sorry it didn't work out for you. Maybe eliminate the sea salt as the baking soda does add sodium as does the butter. So, unsalted butter could be used as well.
